Camp Update – Day 19

I am just dropping a real fast update. I’ve got too much going on and want to enjoy the air while it lasts. Full moon tonight and think I’ll be trying to take some photographs.

As far as camp goes I’m a little ahead of today’s goal which is incredible. I’m very satisfied. 32,333 done for a 50,000 goal! I’m doing a jig (clumsily I might add) and looking forward to a full day of writing tomorrow!

How is your camp going?

Camp NaNoWriMo – Day 18

Another great morning of writing on Passion’s Haunting. I think writing in the mornings and stopping after lunch works out good for me. Now and then I have a day where mornings are filled with getting up and down with work and I find it takes me all day to get my word count but most times it seems to make the day go by faster.

Today I managed a grand total 3,280 words. Not much further to go. And realization came to me this morning that there is no way I’ll have the book done by the end of the month. But at least camp is giving me the push to keep the work going on it.

How is your camp experience going for your current WIP?

I’m pretty much doing a happy dance and smiling like the Chesire Cat in Alice and Wonderland. I am officially halfway to my goal of 50,000 words as of today. I wrote up 3,334 words this morning! I am not sure what to expect once the 50,000 words are written. I don’t know if Jonathan’s tale will be told by then. Probably not. I’m averaging around 7,000 to 8,000 words per chapter and I’ve just finished Chapter Four’s rough draft. I may end up getting rid of the chapters themselves and just put dividers in between the scene changes that are currently chapter splits. I’ve got a lot more to go. 50,000 is just a scratch. Not even a dent if I’m going to be honest. But it feels good being this close and this far into it. My issue right now is I’ve not really read any of the four chapters so I don’t know if it’s all cohesive. So that will have to wait until I’m done with the entire rough and take a break to read it before sitting down to edit. I’m nervous, anxious and even a whole lot terrified.

Camp NanoWriMo – Update Day 16

I so want to cry right now but not as much as I did the past two days. I’ve not worked on my WIP for camp for two days. Two days ago I decided I was going to edit the three chapters I had drafted just to see if I was on the right track. I am as far as the story is going and my MC is beginning to become real. His emotions are taking a toll on me to be quite honest *rolls eyes*. Not that that’s entirely a bad thing but he’s talking in my dreams telling me his next plans for his tale and I wake up thinking someone was standing outside my window talking all night.

Editing – Passion’s Haunting

Today was in Facebook before I  decided to get to doing another chapter or two. I was surfing a writing group and someone mentioned Hemingway Editor. I had to try it out so put a little over 400 words in and watched the magic happen. Not bad results. Five minutes of editing and it was perfect the way I wanted it. I got so excited I decided to edit the three complete chapters I had written. I’m happy! I can now continue with doing more 😀 It gave me the confirmation I needed that I was on the right track and I have nothing to fear.

Even though I’ve edited the three chapters that doesn’t mean they are part of a first draft. I’m considering it still a rough draft. I’m sure I’ll want to read in over in whole and add more or cut some more out. Just part of the process and I’m not stressing over it.

I’ve got to get in and write a couple thousand more and get today’s word count for Camp but at least I’m relaxed enough to just type away and not worry about grammer, spelling and confusing sentences. No passive voice in my book and that makes everything else seem like child’s play right now!

So if you are looking at editing soon, don’t despair! It’s not that bad. Really, I wouldn’t fib about something like that *wink*

Hope your doing good with your works in progress. I’d love to hear about where you are on one of them, or all of them! Up to you. Just drop me a comment and have a little fun with your works!

Seriously I opened my trial of Scrivener and officially lost my marbles today. Currently I’m just doing a very rough of the rough draft. Putting scenes together for chapters. I worked on Chapter three and stopped two scenes short on it and didn’t even realize it until just now. I’ve gotten myself back on track regarding word count (and a few extra to make sure). So as of right now I’ve got 21,758 words done since July 4 2016. I missed the first three days but I think it spurned me on even with the 3 day absence *cringes* and tons to do.

Camp NaNoWriMo – Day 12

I have to blush with embarrassment and admit that for three days I hadn’t worked on my project for camp. I took the first day off to get an outline for another project done. The second day was life outside of writing begged for attention. Namely the garden screaming to be weeded and a much needed rest of my mind from all things Fiction. I ended up playing Dragon City for a good half of the day, took a nap and nursed a migraine. Yesterday was just all out bad. Anything that could go wrong did. So today I sat down after lunch and belted out words into Passion’s Haunting and then again before  dinner. Six hours total and had myself caught up with my needed word count.

Camp NaNoWriMo Update & New Project

I took a much need break from my WIP on Passion’s Haunting. My word count is a little behind my daily goal but not by much. I found I had done enough writing that putting it aside for one day kept me within reach of having no issues with getting caught up to today’s goal in camp. But I didn’t take a break from writing entirely.
